Apparently, the problem is with the firmware of WD which needs an update, Now to update, you have to my passport wd 0730 your hard drive to a Windows 7 PC, download the new firmware from WD website and run it. Hi Everyone, I was able to figure out the problem on Windows 8 and how to solve it. If your WD driver is already assigned a letter, then click Change icon and choose another letter for it. My passport wd 0730 I have tried to uninstall the devices and restart the PCbut same results were found. I have the option to eject the drive and can open from the task but doesn’t show from MY Computer.
